Life is all about remarkable celebrations! As bystanders, we see many joyful events and are always so proud to be a part of the memories we help make. A young couple starting their life together as man and wife, dear friends gathering to shower a mom-to-be, a family celebrating a ten-year reunion, an older couple toasting fifty years together; yes, life seems richer when we take the time to enjoy one another! The Regent provides the perfect backdrop for all of our community and all of life’s celebrations.
We love being part of the neighborhood and sharing this facility with the wonderful array of businesses, community groups and individuals who make Brandon such a magnificent place to call home.
This year The Regent will host a variety of fantastic celebrations, all with various styles and purpose. The Regent will be home to a plethora of community-centric events, unbelievable wedding ceremonies and receptions, successful fundraisers, glamorous galas, auctions, seminars, retreats and even super-sweet 16 parties. We’ll also play host when special organizations utilize the faculty for training employees, community leaders hold special meetings or when troop leaders teach boy scouts how to tie their first marine knot.
Shannon Keil | Executive director
Shannon Keil is a Florida girl through and through; born and raised in Central Florida. She recently moved back to Florida from Texas and now resides in Riverview, FL with her husband of 24 years, John along with their 3 children; Shawn, Kaleigh, Taylor, son-in-law Jaime and grandson Dominic. Shannon has built her 20+ year career in Florida, Texas and around the globe working for companies such as Universal Studios Creative Development, Young Presidents Organization, Streams Ministries, Mary Kay Corporate and now The Regent. Through this career building journey she has learned from amazing mentors and industry leaders, gathering an understanding of corporate events, meetings, workshops and conferences – large and small. She has been honored to walk with a long list of brides down the aisle to their most memorable life changing moment, and has put together dinners, galas and events to help charities and non-profits increase their bottom line.
For her it isn’t the event itself that brings the success but all of the small details that bring a memory making experience to life.
Brittanny edwards | event manager
Brittanny Edwards is the Event Manager at the Regent. She is a Florida Native born in Plant City. Her journey has carried to Texas where she strapped on her boots and dug into the hospitality industry working for the Chickasaw Nation at the Worlds Largest Casino. Her expertise allowed her the luxury of delivering VIP services to world travelers and thrill seekers like herself. Her interest in travel and exploration led her to Maine where she spent 2 years writing and honing her passion for photography. She now resides here in Riverview with her Boyfriend Eric, her two sons Bronson and Declan, and their two dogs. When she is not promoting community evolvement for The Regent she is probably out photographing strangers taking in beautiful moments of daily Life. She has discovered a new passion in the event industry making the special moments a little more spectacular!
ASHLEY HODSON | event COORDINATOR
Ashley Hodson has lived in South Florida all her life; born and raised in Boca Raton. She now resides in Brandon, FL with her boyfriend and 2 dogs. She attended schools throughout Hillsborough County where she later graduated from Bloomingdale Senior High School leading to her acceptance at Florida Atlantic University. She moved back home after a year, transferring to HCC unsure of her future calling. She has always had a passion in helping others and always made sure everyone around her was wearing a smile. Her attributes led her into the hospitality industry for 5 years as a hostess, server, and afterward a bartender. She is now the Event Coordinator at The Regent where she can be found greeting everyone who walks through the door with a smile and warm welcome. She is ecstatic to be able to work alongside with brides to plan their most memorable moment, as well as planning galas, Quinceanera’s & Quinces, birthday parties, events for non-profit organizations, corporate companies and much more! She is looking to become involved in the community and meet as many members of our community as possible, while accomplishing every aspect of event planning.
JenN | event COORDINATOR
Jennifer Smith is a Certified Meeting Professional with over 10+ years in the meeting and events industry. She has worked for large insurance companies, small healthcare communications companies and third party meeting planning companies creating meaningful training experiences, business meetings & exceptional industry events for audiences large and small. Now that Jennifer has joined The Regent as an Event Coordinator, she is bringing her years of corporate meeting experience to her community and loving every minute of it! Jennifer is a native Floridian born in St. Petersburg and raised in Tampa. Although she spent many years living and working outside of Florida, she returned in 2011 and resides in Dover with her husband Robert and 2 retired racing Greyhounds, Bell Kay and Maxwell.
Faith Moeller | event coordinator
Faith Moeller has been married to the love of her life Trent for 20 years. They currently reside in Riverview where they are raising their four children Zachary, Sydney, Mia, and Bethany. She considers herself a “Brandonite” with roots running deep in her community through serving on staff and volunteer positions at local churches and non-profit organizations in the Brandon/Riverview area over the last 25 years. She loves to plan events because she believes life is full of memories so it is best to make a lot of great ones! She has a heart for people and in her world there are no strangers just friends she hasn’t met yet!
